When it comes to dining on the Cape, I’m happiest when things are kept simple. All I need is a stellar location and some fresh food that’s cooked well. So, when I get the chance to eat out, and the weather behaves, my favorite place to go is the Sesuit Harbor Cafe, a well-kept secret tucked away amongst the towering boats in a Dennis marina. The views are outstanding, the napkins are paper towels, the tables are of the picnic variety, and the food (well, most of it anyway) is outstanding, golden-fried seafoody goodness. (more…)

Happy Koi Swim Amongst the Ceramics of Scargo Pottery in Dennis

I’ll fess up. I have a pottery addiction. Years ago I took a pottery class, hoping that I too could produce beautiful bowls, cups, and plates all on my own. But after a few weeks of diligent ineptitude, all I had to show for myself were two grossly misshapen bowls that each weighed about as much as a compact car. Oh, well. After that, I decided to leave the potting to the professionals. And, lucky for me, Cape Cod is a paradise for potters and the people who love what they do. One of my favorite places to succumb to my addiction is Scargo Pottery in Dennis. It is on a little street, fancifully named Doctor Lords Road, hidden off a slightly bendy bit of 6A, right across from Scargo Beach.
